No. Live view, motion detection, person, pet, and vehicle detection, and local recording are available without a subscription. Tapo Care is optional.

Yes. The Tapo C575D supports 802.3af/at PoE, allowing power and data to run through a single Ethernet cable. You can also use the included 12V DC adapter and connect through Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
