Welcome to the setup guide.
To ensure equal access for all users, we offer this accessible setup guide. This guide is designed to meet accessibility needs, enabling a successful setup. It will introduce the appearance of your doorbell and hub, including its ports, buttons and labels, and then guide you through the setup process.
Tapo D230S1 / TD23 is a Video Doorbell Camera Kit, containing a doorbell and a hub.
Step 1. Know about your doorbell
1. You can find your doorbell and the USB cable in the package.
USB Cable: Type-A port at one end and Type-C port at the other end. You can find the cable in the package. Connect it to a USB charger to charge your doorbell.
2. Next, place your doorbell on a horizontal surface, such as on a shelf or desktop. Position it with the camera lens facing forward and on the upper side.
3. After positioning your doorbell correctly, we will introduce the ports, buttons, and labels on your device in a certain order.
Microphone: For capturing your voice. It is right above the lens.
Lens: For capturing objects within its view.
System LED: It is right below the lens. It shows your doorbell status. You can check the doorbell status on the app.
Motion Sensor: It is a raised hemisphere below the system LED for detecting motion.
Light Sensor: It is a tiny circle right below the motion sensor.
Spotlight: It is a rectangular LED.
Ring Button: For ringing the doorbell. It is the block below the ring button.
Turn to the back panel to find SYNC/RESET button and Anti-Theft button.
SYNC/RESET: It is located on the upper side. Press and hold the button for 1 second1 to pair with the hub and 5 seconds to reset the doorbell.
Anti-Theft: It is right below the SYNC/RESET button. When the Anti-Theft Alarm is enabled on the Tapo app, an alarm will trigger once the doorbell is removed. Pressing and holding the Anti-Theft button for 5seconds will pause the alarm (Continues to
alarm when released). Pressing and holding the SYNC/RESET button and Anti-Theft button simultaneously for 10 seconds will disable the anti-theft alarm feature.
Product label: The product label is on the back of the doorbell through laser engraving.
Step 2. Know about your hub
1. You can find your hub and the power adapter in the package.
Power Adapter: The power adapter is usually a rectangular or square block with a cord on one end that plugs into the power port to power it on.
2. Next, place your hub on a horizontal surface, such as on a shelf or desktop. Position it with the stripes on the shell facing upward and on the lower half.
3. After positioning your doorbell correctly, we will introduce the ports, buttons, and labels on your device in a certain order.
Status LED: It is near the center of the top panel. It indicates the status of your hub. You can check the hub status on the app.
Turn to the right panel to find SYNC button.
SYNC: Press to pair with the doorbell, or silence the hub when it rings.
Turning to the back panel, you will find the following ports from left to right.
Power Port: Plug in the power adapter to power on the device.
LAN Port: Connect to a router or a switch using an Ethernet cable.
Reset Button: Use a pin to press and hold for about 5 seconds to reset the hub. You will hear voice prompts when reset successfully.
microSD Card Slot: Insert a microSD card (not included) with the notch on the right side.
Product label: The product label is on the bottom of the hub.
Step 3. Set Up
1. Get the Tapo app from the App Store or Google Play, then log in.
2. Plug in the power adapter of yur hub. Wait 30 seconds for the doorbell to start up.
3. Tap the + button in the app and select your device model. Follow the instructions on the Tapo app to set up your doorbell and pair with the chime.

• This product is not intended to be used when providing medical care. Consult the manufacturer of any personal medical devices, such as pacemakers or hearing aids to determine if they are adequality shielded from external RF (radio frequency) energy.
• Do not use this product in health care facilities. Hospitals or health care facilities may be using equipment that could be sensitive to external RF energy.
• Do not place heavy objects on top of the product.
• When you leave the product unused for a long time unplug the product from the power outlet.
• This product may interfere with other electronic products such as TV, radios, personal computers, phones or other wireless devices.
• Always follow the local waste and recycle laws when you get rid of the used battery.
• Do not use the product if the casing has been broken. Danger of electric shock.
• Never touch the product with wet hands.
• The mounting height should not be higher than 2 meters.
